Dear J201 students,
Here’s an opportunity for you to earn .5 points of extra credit for J201. You are invited to participate in an online study concerning what people learn from reading news stories. Your participation in this study will involve reading excerpts from news articles and answering questions about various political issues.
This study can be completed online and may be taken on any computer with an Internet connection at a time and location of your convenience. We expect your participation to last less than 20 minutes. This study will be open until 11:59pm Friday, Sept. 22nd.
In order to participate in this research study, you need to be at least 18 years old. Your participation is completely voluntary. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact the researcher, Douglas McLeod at firstname.lastname@example.org.
If you would like to receive extra credit, but do not want to participate in the study, you may attend an alternate lecture about the study on October 27 1pm-2pm, Vilas 5157. Please note that you cannot receive credit for both—you will get a maximum of .5 points for participating in this study or attending the alternative lecture.
